FUTURE PRAWN // Liebeskummer und Reis Drei Jahre ist es her, seitdem Future Prawn mit ihrem Debüt die sträflich unterbespielte Bühne des Garage Glamrocks betreten haben: Ein Album wie ein zufällig in einem Hinterhof entdeckter Club, in dem sich Slacker und Punker genauso tummeln wie Psychedelic-Nerds und Glam-Fans. Nun gibt es die nächste Vorstellung: Mit „Liebeskummer und Reis“ hat Bandleader und Multiinstrumentalist Martin Mann erneut ein Album vorgelegt, das mit charmanter Leichtigkeit den Sweet Spot zwischen Westcoast-Songwritertum à la Ty Segall und flamboyantem Pop à la Lemon Tigs trifft. Die Umbaupause im Eckladen des „Noch Besser Leben“ ist vorüber und Leipzigs älteste Vinyl-only Partyreihe für Funk & Soul macht den Auftakt für eine schweißtreibende Nacht in dem legendären Kneipen-Club auf der Karl-Heine-Straße. Was passt besser zum Valentinstag als ein tanzwütiger Abend mit knisternden Platten voller grooviger Songs über Liebe, Herzschmerz und wilder Sehnsucht?Im schönen alten Salon in der 1. Etage hängt übrigens noch die Original-Tapete von 1972. Zu diesem Ambiente sind Gäste in passendem Outfit natürlich sehr gerne gesehen.

Do.20Leatherette (ITA)(Bologna, Bronson Recordings).Leatherette sind Andrea, Francesco, Jacopo, Marco und Michele aus Bologna, und ihr Name stammt von der Single „Warm Leatherette“ von The Normal. Der Sound der Italiener ist eine Verhöhnung der Rockmusik und ihrer Ästhetik, ein Potpourri aus Punk-Ausbrüchen, jazzigen Atmosphären und No-Wave-Anklängen. Mit ihrem reichhaltigen und vielschichtigen Sound, erinnern sie an Acts wie Shame und Squid. Die Band hat zwei Alben veröffentlicht, zuletzt das zweite Album Small Talk, eine elektrisierende Mischung aus Noise, Jazz und Shoegaze.

Popular brass-led ensemble, Kolonel Djafaar, unveil second album, ‚Getaway‘, their first for Batov Records, seamlessly blending Afrobeat, Ethio jazz, and psych rock, whilst showcasing the band’s evolution over the past couple of years. Having built a loyal local Antwerp following off of the success of their 2019 debut self released album, ‚Forgotten Kingdom‘, and growing reputation for electrifying stage performances, Kolonel Djafaar achieved worldwide recognition in 2021 for the ‚Cold Heat‘ EP on Batov Records, attracting praise from Music Is My Sanctuary („triumphant), and support from Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Radio Music, and DJs across Worldwide FM, Soho Radio, Le Mellotron, and KEXP. The group overcame busy schedules and frequent quarantine periods to hit the studio in February 2022 to lay down four tracks. However, the creative itch persisted, leading to an intense writing session in August, deep in the heart of a tranquil forest. From noon until midnight, the band immersed themselves in the creative process, embracing the freedom to make noise without restraint.

Die Band versteht ihr Fach zweifelsohne und macht alles richtig. Die Songs sind frisch und abwechslungsreich und es zeigt sich einmal mehr: Mit etwas Glück, ordentlich Talent und komplettem Fernbleiben sämtlicher Hemmungen entstehen manchmal ganz grosse Sachen. Fullax sind zurück auf der Bühne und kündigen ihre Deutschlandtour für November 2024 an. Nach einer erfolgreichen Mini-Tournee im Vorjahr zieht es die Band mit ihrem zweiten Studioalbum „Jugend ohne Plan“ (April 2024) erneut auf die Straße.
„Jugend ohne Plan“ richtet den Blick auf das Abseits der Urbanität, auf eine Jugend auf dem Land, die meist nicht so wildromantisch ist, wie sie sich anhört. Geschichten zwischen Coming of Age und Erwachsenwerden, Eskapismus und Exzess in den späten Zehnerjahren. Das Ausbuchstabieren der Adoleszenz in all ihren Ausprägungen betten Fullax dabei in tanzbare Vibes zwischen Melancholie und Melodie, die nicht von ungefähr kommen.
Mit Gitarren der frühen Nullerjahre von Indie bis Punk sozialisiert, demonstrieren Fullax auch über ihr Faible für die Synth- und Disco-Sounds der 80er Jahre hinaus, dass ihr Sound für viele Einflüsse offen ist.

Die kanadische Indie-Pop-Band APOLLO GHOSTS um den Songwriter Adrian Teacher gilt seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2008 als eine der dynamischsten Live-Acts Vancouvers. Nach vier Alben und unzähligen Shows meldeten sie sich 2022 mit „Pink Tiger“ zurück – ein in jeglicher Hinsicht großzügiges Doppelalbum voller jangelnder Gitarren, Twee-Pop-Gesangsharmonien und entwaffnender Hooks. Man hatte sich gerade in jeden der Songs mindestens einmal verliebt, da veröffentlichen APOLLO GHOSTS mit „Amethyst“ bereits ein neues Mini-Album, mit dem sie 2025 auch für eine ausgiebige Tour nach Europa kommen.

Die australisch-stämmige Musikerin landet über einen Zwischenstopp in Seoul schließlich in Berlin. Als klassisch ausgebildete Schlagzeugerin findet sie stets Anschluss in queeren Communities und FLINTA*-Bandprojekten. Eilis spielte so in diversen namhaften Gruppen wie „Laura Lee & The Jettes“, „Party Fears“ oder „I Drew Blank“, sowie aktuell für ihre eigenen Bands Kara Delik (türkischer Post-Punk) und Restless (Noisy Punk).
Nun veröffentlicht Eilis Frawley nach mehreren Singles und zwei EPs ihr erstes Full-Length- Solo-Album „Fall Forward“ mit zehn Songs am 07.03.2025 bei Sinnbus. Co-produziert hat die Platte Kat Frankie, die schon länger ein Fan von Eilis Frawley ist. Zusammen haben die beiden Künstlerinnen ein anspruchsvolles, experimentelles Indie-Album mit Einflüssen aus Pop, Jazz und Krautrock aufgenommen. „Fall Forward“ ist ein einzigartiger Soundkosmos – innovativ, klug und stets stilsicher. Es setzt sich zusammen aus präsenten Drums, experimentellem Spoken Word und gelayerten Vocals, mal sphärischen, mal spielerischen Synthesizer-Klängen und groovigen Basslines.

Oh No Noh besucht uns auf seiner ‚As Late As Possible‘ Album Release Tour.
Die platte erscheint am 04.04.2025 auf TELESKOP – live dann am 10.04. im Salon des NBL’s.Hinter das Verborgene blicken, aus dem Alltag ein Orchester formen. Im Nebensächlichen die Essenz finden, im Komplexen die Klarheit, in der Einfachheit die Poesie. All dies gehört zu Ziel, Sinn und Charakter von Oh No Noh, dem Projekt des Leipzigers, Gitarristen, Roboterprogrammierers, Magnetbandzerknitterers und Komponisten Markus Rom. All dies schwebt und strahlt durch „As Late As Possible“, das am 04.04.2025 erscheinende dritte Oh-No-Noh-Album. Im Fokus dieses Albums stand, wie der Titel „As Late As Possible“ andeutet, die Geduld. Ein kreatives Verweilen, das selbst auferlegte Prinzip des Reifens von Ideen, das bewusste Liegen lassen und erneute Betrachten um Neues darin zu entdecken und zu verfeinern. Immer auf der Suche nach neuen Wegen der musikalischen Klangerzeugung verwischt Markus Rom mit seinem Soloprojekt bereits seit mehreren Jahren die Grenzen zwischen LoFi, Indietronica, Postrock, Kraut und Pop. Sein Hauptinstrumentarium hierfür: E-gitarre, Midi-Roboter, Tapes, Samples.

Berlin’s Anatolian, post-punk, new-wave group explodes with dynamic, poly-rhythmic psych-grooves, live energy, and a galactic panache for otherworldly effects.
Not content with spanning continents, musical genres, time periods, and the universe, Kara Delik is responsible for conjuring up a dynamic, contemporary psychedelic Anatolian, post-punk dub sound. The combined output of a set of musicians, each with their own stylistic legacy, have manifested something that is uniquely new and energetic, narrating the history of Anatolian rock, Krautrock, and dub, all delivered with a zesty, and explosive live punch.
Founded in 2020, Kara Delik first exploded onto the Berlin scene with their debut EP Tamam, before taking their sounds across the continent, later rewarding fans with a tetralogy of EPs, entitled Singularities I-IV.
2025 will see the release of the anticipated debut full length album of the international trio, to be released independently on April 11. The self-titled album “Kara Delik” will feature 11 tracks of the Band’s unique mix of energetic, complex rhythms, soundscapes, and effects, delivering an industrious post-punk melee of Anatolian heat.

Illegale Farben spielen an den Sollbruchstellen von Post-Punk, Neue Deutsche Welle und Indie ihre grauschwarze Musik. Gegründet 2015 haben Illegale Farben mittlerweile 4 Alben (“Illegale Farben” 2016; “Grau” 2017; “unbedeutend ungenau” 2021; “Monte Fiasko” 2024) auf Rookie Records veröffentlicht und dabei einen Bogen gespannt der am Ende doch immer unverkennbar die Handschrift der Band trägt. Illegale Farben erweisen sich weiter als eine Band, die nicht stagniert und sich schon gar nicht musikalisch wiederholt. Die nicht den einfachen Weg nimmt und der es genau so gelingt, ihrer Musik die Dringlichkeit zu geben, die wir in jedem Song spüren. Wie sie selbst in „Marsch ins Verderben“ singen: „Weiter immer weiter / Die Schönheit liegt im Scheitern.“

Januar 2025 erscheint das Album „III“ der Kölner Band KRATZEN – wieder als handgestempeltes limitiertes Vinyl. Mi.14Grandmas House (UK)
Grandmas House are a Bristol-based punk trio made up of Yasmin Berndt (vocals, guitar), Poppy Dodgson (vocals, drums) and Zoë Zinsmeister (bass). Formed in late 2018, they swept through Bristol’s renowned music scene, playing alongside the likes of Frankie Cosmos, Rita Lynch and Stef Chura. Fast forward to 2021 and Radio 1’s Jack Saunders named them “one of the most exciting bands coming out of Bristol at the moment,” while they were also championed by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music, DIY, Dork, Upset and more.
Combining their love of post-punk with surf-tinged melodies, Grandmas House craft a sound that grabs you right by the throat. Known for their raucous guitar riffs, thumping basslines, aggressive drums and deadpan lyricism, while the band have drawn comparisons to artists ranging from Courtney Barnett to The Slits to Motörhead, theirs is a sound completely undeniable and entirely their own.
